NEDO - Norwegian Education and Development Organisation
NEDO has initiated two successful projects which directly engages tourists to impact local communities. White bicycles are rented out to tourists during their stay in Siem Reap and the money raised supports selected schools in the rural areas of Siem Reap Province and also help supply water filters which provide clean drinking water to these rural villages. Love Cards is an initiative where hand painted postcards are sold in local guesthouses and shops for tourists to buy and send home. Students at Tatouk Primary School and Jay’s school are offered extra curricular art classes and paint Love Cards. The proceeds from the cards go back to the development of the schools and the proceeds subsidises teacher’s salaries and maintains school buildings.
